UK kitchen appliance manufacturer, Glen Dimplex Home Appliances (GDHA), has been named White Goods Supplier of the Year at this year’s ERT awards. The award, which was presented at the ERT Awards in London, was judged by a panel of electrical industry experts, including Chief Executive of CIH Stuart Cook and Retra Chief Executive, Bryan Lovewell.
White goods suppliers were judged on evidence of how they support independent retailers across all aspects of their businesses, including stockholding and delivery, after-sales service, marketing, training, in-store displays and promotional events. GDHA, which owns the British cooking brands Stoves, Belling and New World and refrigeration brand Lec, won praise from the judges for its excellent UK based after sales service and support of independent retailers via flexible training, promotions and stockist support schemes. In the last 12 months, GDHA has launched a number of schemes across cooling, range cooking and built-in, which offer participating retailers display discounts, extended product warranty guarantees and access to exclusive promotions. As the only major cooking appliance manufacturer still producing in the UK, GDHA has also been a major champion of UK manufacturing, leading a campaign earlier this year to support the design and introduction of a Made in Britain marque to allow consumers to identify UK made products.
To date, more than 300 manufacturers have signed up to support the scheme.
